Jess
Owner/Stylist
@rosiereiner.etcI’m Jessica, but people usually call me Jess. I am one of the co-founders here at To the Woods. I really love having my own spot especially because it allows me to nerd out on spreadsheets and tracking which is my love language. I am a hardcore Capricorn sun with and ooey gooey Pisces moon and tinge of Aries Rising.
I’ve been a stylist for 18 years (legally) but long before that, I was using my brave friends as my models. I love being intuitive with hair – letting it tell me how it wants to move and where it wants to live. I love, love, love using a straight razor, although I have fallen back in love with the scissors. Obsession: Golden blondes, I call it the Sarah Jessica Parker golden retriever blonde. Warm tones are a hidden gem that most people look spectacular with!
Things that make me swoon: making perfumes, oils and balms for the skin (including your scalp). Caffeine free diet cokes, I know, I know nasty. Must be served in a cold can over a lot of BIG ice cubes. (think your single whiskey cube); this a recipe that has been past down for generations in my family. I pride myself on being able to pick out the perfect cucumber any time of year even out of season and it is my favorite food. Pickles dipped in tzatziki are near and dear to my heart.
Lastly, I love chatting and hearing about your life and nothing makes me happier than to keep all your secrets!

jaime
Owner/Stylist
@jaime_onewayHi, I’m Jaime, co-founder and stylist at To The Woods, My journey began in New York City, where I graduated from the Aveda Institute in 2003 and further honed my skills at Sally Hershberger and Arrojo Studio.
Before immersing myself in the work of hair, I studied at FIT and worked in luxury fashion. This background allows me to bring a unique and style-foreword perspective to my clients, tailoring looks that seamlessly fit their modern lifestyles.
I have a deep appreciation for effortless, unfussy styles that highlight natural texture and individuality. Specializing in lived-in, luxe blonding services (on all levels of hair!) and organic cutting techniques. My goal is to create looks that feel both elevated and easy to maintain.
My passion and curiosity for hair (and people!) keep me continually inspired and evolving as a human. I’ve pursued advanced training with industry leaders like Vidal Sassoon, Jayne Matthews, Hairstory studio R+Co, Bumble $ bumble, Johnny Ramirez and Whittemore House, among others.
At To The Woods I strive to craft syles that not only look fresh & beautiful but also resonate with each clients unique sense of self. Fun facts about me:
I’m and Aquarius with Aquarius rising - visionary & community driven…anyone relate?
I have two teen girls and really strong boundaries, lol. You can “try” to argue with me, butttt…
I am trustworthy and will always, ALWAYS be honest with you. You will always know where you stand with me.
I believe in a life well lived and cultivate it minute by minute. I value the time I spend with my clients in the salon and loved ones outside of it. Balance is the key to everything!

Cover
Stylist
@thehaircover_Hi, I’m Cover! Originally from Thailand, I’ve found a home in Chapel Hill and look forward to growing my hair expertise here! I’m an Aries (and a big believer in Astrology), so you can expect me to bring that fiery passion and confidence to whoever I meet in my chair. Three things I love: Labubus, The Marías and Sade’s hair circa 1992. Three things I hate: Lululemon price tags (worth it, though), people who are perpetually late, and first dates in the woods in the middle of the night – ask me about it!

Canan
Stylist
@canankilichairMy name is Canan, pronounced Juh-non (Turkish!) I’m a Carrboro native, who is now happily residing in downtown Durham. In my spare time, I find peace visiting my local thrift stores and finding four-leaf clovers in my yard. At work, I feel grateful everyday for a career that plays such a big role in gender-affirming care. Every time a client sits in my chair, I aim to connect in a way that makes them feel safe, comfortable and validated. I love the challenge of tailoring styles to each individuals’ texture and way of life. Whether that be a simple bang touch up, a light refresh, or a huge transformational chop, I look forward to it all!

Marcella
Stylist
@honeymoon.durhamI’m Marcella! I’m West Coast born and raised but, with Durham’s help, discovered I’m an East Coast person at heart. 10 years ago, I began my career doing formal styles for friends and jumped right in from there! Since then, I’ve found a great love for 60s and 70s fashion and helping my clients feel as good as Grace Jones and Raquel Welch looked. Going lighter is fun, but richer and darker tones and REDS really have a special place in my heart! Besides the mid-century aesthetic, I’m also an enjoyer of orange blossom scents, luxury linen sheets, and giving absolutely zero f*cks.

ehren
Stylist
My name is Ehren – a 23-year hair industry veteran and returning North Carolinian! After spending 14 years in New York City, I’m excited to bring all my experience back to Chapel Hill. You can often find me enjoying a crisp maple iced coffee and reading my horoscope skeptically (as a true Aries would). As the regretful owner of a cupcake tattoo, I understand the importance of making big decisions, and hair can be a big decision! At work, I pride myself in delivering gorgeous layered colors and keeping your locks healthy – all while wearing the proper footwear and humming some Backstreet Boys under my breath.

SOE
Stylist
Hi, I’m Soe. My roots lie in Thailand but I’ve spent my whole life in the triangle, and the last 3 years behind the chair. Along the way, I’ve found great inspiration in the magic that is Sabrina Carpenter and bringing that level of glam to every appointment. Those that know me best know that if I ever win the lottery, I would spend some on Jimmy Choo Cinderella’s and most on criminalizing tasteless food and people who don’t use turn signals. If I’m not in the salon (or catching up on sleep), I’m tending to my plants and daydreaming about how I’d re-style the Mona Lisa because that profile pic is long overdue!
